Codex App Manager is an independent open-source project that detects the local official Codex desktop app, then helps plan installation, incremental updates, clean uninstallation, and one-click launch.

05 · DOWNLOAD & INSTALL

A careful installation flow

  1. Open the official GitHub Release page using the button below.
  2. Read the release notes and select the asset that matches your operating system and architecture.
  3. Download the installer from GitHub, then compare its SHA-256 hash with SHA256SUMS from the same release.
  4. Run the installer and follow the project's current instructions. After installation, open the Manager and review its proposed Codex action before confirming it.

For Windows, the project documents Get-FileHash as a way to verify SHA-256. Do not rely on a file name alone.

Review before the Manager changes anything

  3. Let the Manager complete the selected action, then use its launch option to open Codex.

Does Shuanova provide the installer?

No. The buttons on this page only open the official GitHub Release page or the official source repository.

Is this the official OpenAI Codex application?

No. It is an independent manager for the official Codex desktop app. The project states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or Microsoft.

Which file should I download?

Choose the asset listed in the latest official Release for your operating system and processor architecture, then verify the published SHA-256 hash.

08 · WINDOWS SECURITY NOTICE

Expect a SmartScreen prompt on current Windows installers

According to the project's README, current Windows installers are not Authenticode-signed. Windows SmartScreen may therefore show a warning on first launch.

The project's Tauri updater signature verifies downloaded bytes, but it is not the same as Windows publisher trust. Check the current code-signing policy and SHA256SUMS on the official release before deciding whether to run an installer.
